Baked Brie in a Boule with Crispy Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 small crusty boule, such as sourdough or country bread
- 1 wheel of Brie cheese, 8–12 oz
- 4–6 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
- Optional: cracked black pepper, fresh thyme, honey or fig jam
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- While your oven is preheating prepare your bacon for the topping.
- Cut the top off the boule and gently hollow out the center, leaving about a 1-inch-thick shell. Set the bread pieces aside for dipping.
- Place the wheel of Brie inside the hollowed bread and sprinkle the chopped crispy bacon evenly over the top of the Brie. Add a little black pepper and thyme if desired.
- Set the filled boule on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the Brie is warm and gooey.
- Serve immediately with the reserved bread pieces for tearing and dipping.
