Our J. Lohr
Touching Lives Story
Prime among today’s crucial health and wellness issues is the ongoing battle against breast cancer. The disease impacts one in every eight U.S. women and their families.
October is once again National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to focus on efforts to combat this devastating disease. At J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, though, the fight against breast cancer is not just a topic for a single month, but a year-round, company-wide effort.
This year marks the thirteenth anniversary of J. Lohr’s heartfelt partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc® (NBCF). The J. Lohr Touching Lives® initiative began when the Lohrs created a partnership with family-run NBCF to help raise awareness for the importance of early detection and women’s breast self-care.
Since the program’s inception, sales from J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard releases have supported early breast cancer detection, access to mammograms, patient navigation services, and the delivery of HOPE Kits (a gift box of comforting items) to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. These programs continue to build on a partnership that has funded over 8,000 mammograms for women who otherwise would not be able to afford them.
In partnership with NBCF, J. Lohr encourages everyone to Activate, Contribute and Engage throughout the year.
Enjoy a Bottle from Carol’s Vineyard
Today, $3 from every purchase of any vintage of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, whether at your local restaurant, wine shop, online, or at our Wine Centers, is donated to National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The limited Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our small estate in Napa Valley’s St. Helena appellation. The current 2016 vintage earned a 90 Point rating from Wine Enthusiast: “With a smattering of Petit Verdot, this hearty, full-bodied red is robust in oak. Tobacco, leather, clove, and char highlight a concentrated dark-berry frame, with a lingering mocha tone on the finish.” (Wine Enthusiast Magazine, September ‘20 issue)
Fans of Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon can take heart that their purchase aids in providing comfort, support, and needed services for women at every step of the arduous breast cancer journey. Click here to learn more and to purchase your bottle of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Attend a J. Lohr Touching Lives® Virtual or In-Person Event or Dinner
Thanks to everyone who attended one of our Touching Lives® virtual dinners or events in October 2020! The spirit and meaning of these dinners carried on, even in the distanced virtual manner that was necessitated in 2020. Even under these conditions, we were able to host more than 75 events in support of National Breast Cancer Month and National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
This year, some events might continue to be virtual, while others in some portions of the US will be conducted in person. We encourage you to frequently visit our Events page to reserve your participation in an upcoming event.
