Our J. Lohr
Touching Lives Story

Carol Lohr In Carols Vineyard Copy

Prime among today’s crucial health and wellness issues is the ongoing battle against breast cancer. The disease impacts one in every eight U.S. women and their families.

October is once again National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to focus on efforts to combat this devastating disease. At J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, though, the fight against breast cancer is not just a topic for a single month, but a year-round, company-wide effort.

This year marks the fourteenth anniversary of J. Lohr’s heartfelt partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc® (NBCF). The J. Lohr Touching Lives® initiative began when the Lohrs created a partnership with family-run NBCF to help raise awareness for the importance of early detection and women’s breast self-care.

Since the program’s inception, sales from J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard releases have supported early breast cancer detection, access to mammograms, patient navigation services, and the delivery of HOPE Kits (a gift box of comforting items) to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. These programs continue to build on a partnership that has funded over 8,000 mammograms for women who otherwise would not be able to afford them.

In partnership with NBCF, J. Lohr encourages everyone to Activate, Contribute and Engage throughout the year.

Enjoy a Bottle from Carol’s Vineyard

Today, $3 from every purchase of any vintage of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, whether at your local restaurant, wine shop, online, or at our Wine Centers, is donated to National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The limited Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our small estate in Napa Valley’s St. Helena appellation. The current 2018 vintage earned a 95 Point rating from The Tasting Panel: “Lilac dipped in boysenberry adds aroma and flavor to silky tannins as chocolate-kissed cedar, dark berries, black plum, and spice create texture on the palate. As the wine opens up, cherry bard and earthy tones gravitate to the front of the mouth, leaving a lasting impression.” (The Tasting Panel, July/August '22 issue)

Fans of Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon can take heart that their purchase aids in providing comfort, support, and needed services for women at every step of the arduous breast cancer journey. Learn more and to purchase your bottle of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
