Three new cheese pairings to try with our J. Lohr Chardonnays
We celebrate Chardonnay Day all year long here at J. Lohr. One classic cheese selection most associated with Chardonnay is Brie. Ready to branch out? For those looking to incorporate a few new cheese pairings into your next Chardonnay tasting, consider these recommendations and tasting notes from our Hospitality Manager, Darrell Marcus.
J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay and Midnight Moon
The duo presented together is absolutely snackable. The young, mild cheese pairs perfectly with the bright, balanced notes from the Riverstone Chardonnay. It’s creamy, without being overly buttery. As you try this combination, we encourage you to take a small bite of the Midnight Moon, let it sit and melt in your mouth a bit, and then take a sip. We promise you’ll keep coming back for more.
J. Lohr October Night Chardonnay with the Humboldt Fog
For the second pairing in the line-up, we recommend our J. Lohr October Night Chardonnay with the Humboldt Fog. The combination of the two brings out the floral notes of our October Night Chardonnay. It tastes a bit tangy, with great acidity. Overall, a great match of texture and brightness.
J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Chardonnay and Camebert
The final pairing suggestion is our J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Chardonnay and Camembert. “Creamy, creamy, creamy” were Darrell’s first thoughts. The Camembert is savory, with notes of truffle. As you indulge in a bit with a sip of Arroyo Vista Chardonnay you’ll be wowed as to how the truffle flavor of the Camembert explodes in your mouth. The duo creates a beautiful, rich and creamy mouthfeel that can only be described as big, bold, with a great long-lasting finish.
We hope you also find these just as delicious as we did. Please let us know how you enjoyed the pairing by tagging us on social media @JLohrWines.
