Dark and ripe with aromas of cherry cordial and blackberry preserves accented with baking spices, cola, and cedar notes. On the palate, luscious dark fruit melts into a long finish with supple tannins and a pillowy texture. Sophisticated fruit upon release, with the structure to age elegantly for 12 to 15 years.

J. Lohr Signature Cabernet Sauvignon was first produced to honor the 80th birthday of founder Jerry Lohr. It is both a tribute to Jerry's pioneering efforts in the Paso Robles region and our red wine portfolio's ultimate expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.

The remarkable J. Lohr Stairway Vineyard sits at the boundary of the Adelaida and Willow Creek Districts in the western portion of the Paso Robles AVA. Stairway was geologically formed from an ancient, uplifted seabed; its steep terraces and lime-laden calcareous soils define it as one of the great vineyard sites of the region. Close proximity to the coast keeps the growing season temperatures at Stairway cooler than much of the rest of Paso Robles.
Hand-harvested grapes were destemmed, berry-sorted, and crushed with the Pellenc Selectiv and Extractiv systems. A ten-day maceration revealed luxurious color potential with ideal tannin extraction before pressing.
