Fifty years ago, Founder Jerry Lohr set out to reshape the landscape of the California wine industry and create one of the country’s most respected wine brands. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of J. Lohr’s heartfelt partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.®. The Touching Lives initiative began when the Lohr family designated the J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon a commemorative release in honor of founder Jerry Lohr’s late wife. Carol Lohr passed away in 2008 due to complications from breast cancer.

J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines was named the 2020 recipient of the Green Medal Leader Award. The annual California Green Medal Sustainable Winegrowing Awards provide recognition to vineyards and wineries who are standard-bearers in implementing the three “E’s” of sustainability: environment, economic, and social equity.

The Leader Award honors the vineyard or winery that “best demonstrates the ability to balance multiple objectives of environmental, economic, and social goals, excelling in these areas with sustainability being clearly integrated into the overall business.”

J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has partnered with Hope Services over the past two decades. Hope Services matches local businesses with adults with developmental challenges, helping achieve their vocational goals. Watch as Joe shares his story of being a valued member of the extended J. Lohr family.
