J. Lohr
Cuvée Series
The Artistic Expression of Flavor
Wines that make the J. Lohr Cuvée designation
are produced in extremely small quantities, and represent
an artistic approach to winemaking using similar blending
philosophies practiced by the Grand Cru Chateaux from
Pauillac, St. Emilion and Pomerol. Our Cuvée
PAU is a blend of at least 50% Cabernet Sauvignon with
the balance of the grapes made up of Merlot, Cabernet
Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec. Cuvée St. E
is produced from over 50% Cabernet Franc, with the remainder
comprised of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot.
Lastly the Cuvée POM is a blend of over 50% Merlot
with the balance derived from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Petite Verdot. Each of these wines competes
with the most expensive wines produced in Bordeaux and
California.

J.
Lohr Vineyard Series
The Ultimate Expression of Flavor
Limited in production and utmost in quality, our Vineyard
Series is J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines' entreé
into the luxury wine category. Our Arroyo Vista Vineyard
is nestled in the Arroyo Seco region of Monterey County,
and produces our most intensely-scented, complex Chardonnay.
Our Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet is located on the highest,
best-drained slope in our Paso Robles holdings. The
east-facing vineyard produces rich, dark fruit, and
a wine of both power and great style.
Reminiscent of Bordeaux, the gravelly loam soils of
our Carol's Vineyard in northern St. Helena in Napa
Valley offer superb growing conditions for Sauvignon
Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Here, Sauvignon Blanc
yields delicate melon and floral varietal characteristics
while this Cabernet is defined by deep black cherry
aromas and flavors.

J. Lohr
Gesture
A Unique Token of Thanks
Originally conceived as a token of appreciation for our loyal wine club members and visitors to our two tasting rooms, J. Lohr Gesture debuted in August 2009 as three limited-release Rhône-inspired varietals and blends showcasing the distinctive microclimates of western Paso Robles. Gesture GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) boasts 50% Grenache wild berry fruit flavors and aromatics, balanced with 38% Syrah and 12% Mourvèdre. Gesture Syrah is a robust, 100% pure varietal expression of seductive, oaky flavor complemented by dark fruit aromas. Lastly, our Gesture Mourvèdre showcases this earthy, structured grape, complemented by 15% Syrah, making it a classic, Rhône-style blend with velvety palate weight and berry and cherry flavors.
Each year, J. Lohr Gesture wines will reflect the vineyard-driven inspiration of our winemakers, so be sure to order a coveted bottle (or two) of J. Lohr Gesture to enjoy with friends as a symbol of your gratitude—and ours.

Cypress Vineyards
Poetic wines from California’s Central Coast
From California’s legendary Central Coast we present Cypress Vineyards, wines which translate the alchemy of fruit, climate, earth and water into a poetic expression of flavors so radiant and refreshing they taste as if they were kissed by sun and sea.
The ocean’s influence on this winegrowing region is significant, keeping coastal and inland valleys refreshingly cool, preserving the grape’s natural acidity and flavor. Temperature is critical for development of flavor, fragrance, and acidity—too little heat, and grapes rarely ripen—too much, and the acidity, delicate and endearing qualities of the grape are lost. For wines from Cypress Vineyards, the daily cooling air from the Pacific moves directly from the Monterey Bay and down the Monterey appellations of the Salinas Valley, creating flavorful wines with finesse and balance.
Says winemaker Jeff Meier, “We’ve leveraged the classic Central Coast winegrowing conditions—warm air, tempered by cool maritime winds, which extends the growing season and yields grapes with characteristic intensity and true varietal flavor—with our hand-crafted styling to create Cypress Vineyards, a new world wine that’s simultaneously vibrant and elegant.”
