The Chardonnay for our 2014 Painter Bridge was grown in the Central Coast of California from the appellations of Arroyo Seco in Monterey and San Benito. Both areas are cool and windy, producing flavorful and richly-textured wines. The Chardonnay was fermented in older French oak barrels to enhance the palate richness while retaining the natural fruit flavors. After completion of alcoholic fermentation, the barrels were stirred weekly, and the Chardonnay aged for 5 months “sur lie.” The wine was then racked to a stainless steel tank for final blending and one additional month of maturation. To enhance the floral and citrus fruitiness of Painter Bridge Chardonnay, a touch of Viognier from Monterey County was added to the blend. The resulting wine is delightfully full-flavored with pretty, forward fruit aromas creating a pleasant, quaffable Chardonnay.

Pale straw-yellow in color with youthful hues, the 2014 Painter Bridge Chardonnay has generous aromas of baked apple and white peach with floral notes and a caramel toastiness. Suprisingly weighty on the palate, this medium-bodied Chardonnay provides peach and apple fruit flavors with a touch of toastiness and creaminess from the barrel fermentation
