Robles | Napa Valley
Because Napa Valley's climate is much like Bordeaux,
it is ideal for both Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Over the past decade, the gravelly loam soils of Carol's
Vineyard in northern St. Helena have proven to offer
truly superb growing conditions for these two traditional
grape varieties. Grapes from our J.
Lohr Carol's Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc are hand-harvested
in the cool of morning, carefully crushed, and fermented
primarily in stainless steel to retain the varietal's
bright, crisp flavors. A small portion of the fruit
is fermented in new French oak barrels for added depth,
complexity and roundness.
Watch Jerry Lohr talk about making world class wines in Napa Valley on Taste by Corkscrew Media.
The fruit from our J.
Lohr Carol's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is also
hand- harvested to preserve the intense flavors and
colors. Blended with Petit Verdot and aged in French
oak barrels for nearly two years, this Cabernet is defined
by deep black cherry flavors and aromas of currants
and licorice.
