J. Lohr Wine Club Member Appreciation Evening - San Jose

Join us for our annual J. Lohr Wine Club Member Appreciation Evening – a festive night to celebrate a new holiday season!   We’ll offer a selection of fabulous J. Lohr wines and scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, while providing a chance to visit with other club members and special J. Lohr guest hosts. This year, we are excited to hold our San Jose Appreciation Evening in the Almaden Ballroom at Hilton San Jose. Wine Club members only.

The event is complimentary, however we will be collecting a$5 per person cash donation at the door to benefit a local charity.  We appreciate your support of this effort for those in need during the holiday season.

Parking is available in the Hilton self-parking garage, located on San Carlos Street (just past the intersection of San Carlos St. and Almaden Blvd.).  A flat rate of $5.00 will be offered to attendees – payable upon entry to the garage.

A special rate of $109 per night for November 18-19, 2011 is being extended to J. Lohr wine club members. Please make your reservation on or before November 2, 2011 by calling1-800-HILTONS.  Additional information is available at  jlohr.com.

Wine & Caramel Tasting with Snake & Butterfly

Taste samples of six J. Lohr wines with six specialty caramels created in the kitchens of Snake & Butterfly Chocolates.  (Bourbon Caramel, Rum Caramel, Scotch Caramel, Balsamic Fig Caramel, Honey Caramel and Red Alaea Salt Caramel).  As part of the ticket price, you will get to take home a jar of your favorite caramel!  Advanced tickets are required, but there is no formal start time to this event.  Drop in any time between 3pm and 5pm. $15.00 per person.

Riedel Wine Tasting Seminar with Chocolate Pairing

Join us for a unique wine tasting demonstrating the relationship between glass design and your perception of enjoyment of various wine varietals. Riedel O – The Key to Wine tasting set includes 5 stemless Riedel designs We will start with a light appetizer reception, followed by a comparative tasting with three wines led by a Riedel representative, and a special tasting of three chocolate & wine pairings guided by our friends at The Chocolate Garage.  The ticket price of this event includes the cost of the Riedel O five piece set which you will take home, $65.00 per person.

Holiday Entertaining Wine, Cheese & Dessert Tasting

Lawrence Lohr, Director of Wine Education, presents a guided discussion about the limiting factors of an appellation’s soil and climate for superior varietal character. Includes a tasting of Cabernet Sauvignon from several appellations.
