Lawrence Lohr, director of wine education, takes you on a tour of the wonderful world of Pinot Noir. This educational seminar will feature a guided tasting of Pinots from Burgundy to California, with an emphasis on J. Lohr Pinot Noir from the Arroyo Seco and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations. Learn about what it takes to produce world class Pinot Noir, the importance of soil and climate in growing the grapes and the various factors that affect style and varietal character. This is the first of four classes in the 2012 Wine 102 Education Series. Other classes include a Cabernet Sauvignon Symposium on September 27th, a Descriptor Seminar on October 11th, and a Blending Seminar on October 25th.
